I only used a used an adapter cable from parallel to USB. My trouble is a software commuter that volition work to recognize the drive. The zip drive worked fine with my old figurer. If it tin can't be done I will chuck the drive. I have a lot of disks with pictures I would like to retrieve.

I have a like problem. I have bought a used iomega cypher 100 commuter, trying to read some sold discs. Together I bought a parallel-to-USB adaptor and then that the driver can be connected to by PC, running on Windows 10. However, the PC does non recognize the zip driver at all. I saw some community bulletin suggesting an old Windows version might piece of work with Zip drive. I got out an one-time Toshiba running Windows XP and conned the commuter to it, same thing. The PC actually acknowledges the plug in of a Printer (probably the parallel cable). Is at that place a way to brand the zip commuter/parallel cable recognized by windows 10?

To follow upwardly. Many websites let you download driver back up software. In fact I installed one on my old pc running on XP and it says my drivers are updated. The problem is the PC recognizes the ZiP 100 drive as a Parallel Printer, connected past a parallel to USB adapter. How practise I make the PC recognize it as a storage device?

I have an erstwhile zip 100 bulldoze. The only driver I have is on a disk. I don't have a disk bulldoze on my reckoner. My 100 zip drive is the external blue box type. I recollect there was a parallel version but mine is USB. I have long since given upwards trying to get it to work, it stopped working after I upgraded to XP. Could non get it going in XP or Windows ten. A few tecky friends of mine accept tried to no avail. Best matter for information technology is probably the bin.
