Developer Stardock announced Star Control: Origins, a prequel to the widely popular Star Control games from the 90s.

Star Control: Origins is a sci-fi action/adventure game with some RPG elements. You captain Earth'south first interstellar starship in a procedurally generated galaxy. You'll see a variety of alien races, visit strange worlds and accept office of epic space battles.

Origins takes place in the yr 2086, when the human race answers a distress call from an conflicting ship that crash landed on the moon of Triton. Earth responds by creating Star Control, a space bureau tasked with protecting Earth investigating the distress call.
